Sculptra is used to improve the appearance of shallow to deep wrinkles or folds on the face. It is clinically approved for treating the deep folds between the nose and the mouth (the nasolabial folds, or “smile lines”), the wrinkles that extend from the corners of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines), and chin wrinkles.

While individual treatment plans will vary depending on the treatment area and degree of correction needed, people have an average of three treatment sessions over the course of a few months. The number of injections at each session will vary for each person; your specialist will customize your treatment plan to address your area(s) of concern.

Sculptra is made of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that is absorbed naturally by the body. It has been used worldwide since 1999 and is FDA approved in the United States.

Sculptra is designed to give you noticeable results that develop gradually. This means that a few days after treatment, you may look the way you did before treatment—this is normal! Sculptra produces full results as collagen is restored over a period of months, and the improvement can last up to two years. You’ll best be able to judge the noticeable reduction of facial wrinkles by comparing your appearance before your treatment series with how you look a couple months after treatment.
